Standard
Laser Cutting
IOI’s initial area of development. It is still used in prototyping, low volume production, and thick plate.
Stamped/Punched
Standard lances are typically used where complex lance geometry is not needed – i.e. mild steel, etc.
Fatigue
Laser Cutting
IOI fatigue feature design eliminates a critical stress riser, enhancing fatigue resistance.
Stamped/Punched
IOI stamped/punched fatigue lances are designed to eliminate a critical stress riser, enhancing fatigue resistance. These lances are also designed to maintain optimal edge to face engagement for high tensile strength materials.
NEMA 3R
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)
EMI Lances shorten electrical discontinuity, while maintaining low folding force.
Hinges
Hinge lances are intended to be used in mild steel where multiple-periodic access is required. In this example a heating element requires periodic replacement, and the use of hinge lances eliminate cost of standard hinges and improve serviceability.
